MERCEDES-AMG G 63 EDITION 53 IS READY TO BECOME A FAVORITE OF THE SULTANS

MERCEDES-Benz Indonesia started the year 2023 by marketing the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Edition 53. The segment is clear, people with deep pockets who want to appear with a luxury gelandewagen.

According to the President Director of PT Mercedes-Benz Distribution Indonesia, Choi Duk Jun, said that this G-Class is one of 19 new cars that will be introduced this year. The company wants to target fulfilling the desire for luxury cars for consumers in the country.

“This is in line with the global Mercedes-Benz strategy where we will emphasize sales of vehicles in the top end vehicle segment. This includes the S-class, AMG, Maybach, EQS, EQS SUV that will be available this year. We will also enhance the luxury experience through after-sales service and the purchase process,” Jun said through his official statement.

This G-Class is arguably an Indonesian endemic product because it is labeled Edition 53 which refers to the age of their existence in Indonesia. The number of cars offered is also limited, with only 20-units.

The G 63 Edition 53 is offered with an AMG Night Package body kit. The main identity comes from the AMG signature front grille, 22-inch AMG cross spoke rims, and striking red brake calipers at the front and rear.

The G-Class also sports darktinted headlamps with LED multibeam technology, mud flaps on the rear tires and glass with heat-retaining capabilities. The German engineers offer two color options: obsidian black and polar white.

The cabin gets a lot of luxury accents, ranging from nappa leather on the steering wheel, leather on the top of the dashboard, carbon fiber trim, and ambient light with 64 colors and 10 color schemes. The entertainment side comes from a 12.3-inch head unit and integrated meter cluster, a sound system made by Burmester with 15 speakers and a sliding sunroof for a more spacious driving feel.

The performance of the G 63 Edition 53 is unquestionable as it is fronted by a 3,982 cc V8 engine that produces up to 585 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with an AMG Speedshift TCT 9G transmission. Official records show the 0-100 kilometer per hour dash can be covered in 4.5 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 220 kilometers per hour only.

The cruiser DNA comes from the four-wheel drive that can be selected with a button in the interior. The SUV can navigate 70 centimeters of water, move on inclines of up to 70 degrees, and climb at extreme angles thanks to its 24.1 centimeters of ground clearance.

The G-Class offers a body length of 4,873 mm, width of 2,187 mm and height of 1,969 mm. The SUV weighs 2.5-ton with a fuel tank capacity of 100 liters. Interested in owning one? Just prepare your money at IDR6.45 billion (off the road). Consumers will also get a charter for this special edition of the G-Class in Indonesia, 9-unit black color and 11-unit white color.
