GARUDA Indonesia operates flights on the Narita-Manado route starting Thursday (02/03), 2023. The flight will complement flights to and from Japan that have previously operated through Jakarta and Denpasar.
“This is a form of Garuda’s support in accelerating national economic recovery through the tourism sector, connectivity between countries, and direct call activities for the export of national superior commodities,” said Garuda Indonesia President Director Irfan Setiaputra through a press release, Saturday (02/25), 2023.
The Narita-Manado (round-trip) flight will be operated once per week using an A330-300 fleet. The fleet has a capacity of 251 passengers consisting of 36 passengers in business class and 215 passengers in economy class.
The Manado-Narita flight will be served every Thursday and the Narita-Manado flight will operate every Tuesday. Both outbound and inbound flights will be served through Denpasar as one of Indonesia’s favorite destinations and strategic tourism hubs.
The Manado-Narita flight will depart from Sam Ratulangi International Airport with GA884 at 02:10 WITA, and will land at Narita International Airport, Tokyo at 08:40 LT. The Narita-Manado flight with GA-885 will depart from Narita and is scheduled to arrive in Manado at 16.00 WITA.
Irfan hopes that the Manado-Narita flight can support the competitiveness of Manado’s leading commodity, tuna, through a faster and more competitive distribution route. This is because Japan is one of the largest tuna importing countries in the world. [sources/photo special]
