AS A RESULT of many tourists indicated to be working in Bali, Immigration is asked to supervise tourists who abuse vacation visas. There is a lot of information about foreigners (foreign nationals) who work in Bali using vacation visas.
The Chairman of Bali Tourism Board (BTB), Ida Bagus Agung Partha Adnyana asked Immigration Office to make preventive efforts to prevent foreigners who use vacation visas to work in Bali. Well, for that it is better to do anticipation for foreign tourists who will come to Bali.
“Preventive action that can be taken by Immigration is to revoke the visa on arrival (VOA) of the foreigner. They must be able to show the hotel where he is staying later and so on. If he really wants to work, then use a 10-year visa,” said Gus Agung.
He explained that many foreigners who work live in the Canggu, Ubud and Sanur areas as well. Gus Agung – his nickname – warned against foreigners taking local people’s jobs.
“Because their country is hard, they must be more tenacious than local residents. The reality is, local people can pass,” he added.
Most foreigners who work illegally in Bali are marketing consultants for their own hotels, tour guides, and digital nomads. [sources/photo special]
