IT HAS BEEN almost four years since the 991 generation Porsche 911 Speedster was marketed. Now Porsche plans to launch the 992 version. Reportedly the latest generation 911 Speedster will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2023.
Quoted from the Carsccops page, the latest 911 Speedster will follow the same design philosophy as its predecessor. This means that the new car will come with a sharper windshield and will carry an interesting support on its rear cover.
In addition, the new Porsche 911 Speedster is also rumored to use a small camera displayed on the cabin screen as a blind spot monitoring feature.
From the power sector, the Porsche 992 Speedster will likely use the same 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated six-cylinder engine as the 911 GT3 model. The engine configuration is capable of producing 503 HP at 8,400 rpm.
Porsche is also likely to limit production for this 992 Speedster model. Considering the previous generation 911 Speedster, Porsche only produced 1,948 units.
Regarding the price, the old 911 Speedster model is sold at US$274,500 or around IDR4.1 billion. While the Porsche 992 Speedster, the price tag is likely to be at US$300,000 or around IDR4.5 billion. [sources/photo special]
