RAMADAN WITH AUTHENTIC PADANG SPECIALTIES AT MENARA PENINSULA HOTEL

A REWARDING Ramadan culinary experience awaits diners at Coleman Kafe for Buka Puasa or breakfasting during the upcoming Ramadan season at Menara Peninsula Hotel Jakarta from 23 March-21 April 2023.

According to Novianne Hadi, Marketing Communication hotel said the kitchen team, under the tutelage of Chef Irvan Junialsyah who has been with the hotel for the past 2 years and is backed with more than 20 years of experience, will present a buffet spread that boasts a plethora of piquant Padang (West Sumatera) specialties in six rotational menus among other Nusantara Indonesian dishes.

“Guests with a penchant for all things spicy will be pleased with the options extended in sambal bawang, sambal belachan and sambal kecap. Soups offered in the rotational menu are Soto Padang, Ikan Asam Padeh, and many more,” she said.

But when asked the reason why the hotel chose Padang cuisine during Ramadan? Novianne directly answered that Padang, West Sumatra, has extraordinary culinary wealth. Even the presence of Padang’s culinary specialties has been throughout the archipelago and the world.

“Well, the uniqueness of Padang cuisine is quite strong in its spices which makes Padang specialties much loved and sought after by the wider community. The strong spices make Padang cuisine have a unique flavor. This is the reason why we chose Padang cuisine as a break-fasting dish,” she pointed out.

Novianne explained that paraded on the main buffet counter are dishes bursting with robust flavors like Dendeng Batokok, Dendeng Cabai Merah, Rendang, Tunjang Karee, Jack Fruit Karee, Potato Balls (Perkedel), Ayam Gulai, Satay Padang among many others.

“The whole dining experience is further enlivened by some live cooking stations with old time favourites’ like satay, soto or noodles prepared ala minute. To culminate the evening on a sweet note, three choices of ice-cream and various toppings are offered, along with treats like bubur sum sum, mixed ice, pudding, a selection of cakes and many more desserts,” she remarked.
