BOOKINGS for Lebaran (Eid) homecoming tickets in 2023 have increased compared to the previous year. Even flight bookings jumped up to 61%.
According to Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of tiket.com, Gaery Undarsa during a press conference in Jakarta, Monday (04/03), 2023 revealed that we can already see from the bookings, for flights it jumped 61%. For accommodation, the increase was 55%.
Gaery also revealed several destinations that became favorites ahead of Eid al-Fitr. The most popular destinations include Medan, Padang and Denpasar.
“Internationally, we have Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Istanbul, Turkey. As for accommodation bookings, Gaery said the most destinations are in Bogor, Bali and Surabaya. Bogor is definitely because Jakarta people want to staycation, vacation and others. International is in Bangkok, Malaysia, Johor and Singapore,” he said.
Meanwhile, the most popular train tickets are Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Semarang. Then for bus tickets, the favorites are Yogyakarta, Malang and Surabaya.
Gaery also explained that this year, the departure dates are already busy starting April 17 and ending on April 28.
“For busy departure dates, it is around April 17 to 28. Because collective leave is advanced, so people have also started leaving on the 17th. So, 17 to 19 is automatically the most crowded. The return is usually a week after that,” he said.
“The advice is to buy tickets from now on. The sooner the better. Especially if it’s Eid, if possible even from yesterday. Because the closer the date, the more expensive the tickets will be,” Gaery concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
