THE MINISTRY Tourism and Creative Economy said that the government is currently focusing on bringing in many qualities foreign tourists from China to Indonesia.
Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno said in the Weekly Press Briefing online, Monday (04/10), 2023 that the quality tourists in question are tourists with a long stay and spend an average of more than US$1,300 (around IDR19.38 million).
“So, what we are aiming for is tourists who stay longer and whose average spending arrival is above US$1,300,” he said. To realize this target, Deputy Tourism Minister Angela Tanoesoedibjo and her team are currently on duty in China,” he said.
He also hopes that with this effort, the target of 255,000 Chinese tourists can be achieved or even exceeded. It takes support from all parties so that we can be able to capture this opportunity.
“In addition, so far the results of the opening of direct flights to China are also quite good. Currently, more and more airlines are offering to open direct flights to China from other cities,” Sandiaga said.
“There are also requests to increase flights from several cities in China. Previously, direct flights from China to Denpasar by Xiamen Airlines had been opened, with flight frequencies every day. Using the Boeing 738-800 fleet, the Xiamen-Denpasar direct flight is the first regular flight after the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.
