MINISTRY APPRECIATES QUANTUM TEMPLE RELEASES NFT ‘PATHS TO ALANGO’

THE INDONESIA’S Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy appreciates Quantum Temple for releasing the ‘Paths to Alango’ NFT collection, which presents unique aspects of Bali’s cultural heritage in each collection.

The launch of the ‘Paths to Alango’ NFT collection was held on March 21, 2023 at L’Atelier des Lumières Paris, France, as a side event of Paris Blockchain Week 2023. A total of 11 NFTs were launched in the ‘Paths to Alango’ collection.

According to Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Angela Tanoesoedibjo in her statement on Monday (04/10), 2023 said when we were introduced to Quantum Temple last year, we did not think twice about giving it our full support. Because at its core, this new model provides value and protects Indonesian culture and cultural artists.

“The inaugural ‘Paths to Alango’ collection presents Bali in 11 original ethnographic films available as collectible NFTs.  Each NFT represents a unique aspect of Bali’s cultural heritage, such as traditional dances, historic temples, heritage sites and philosophy. Everything is filmed on location against a backdrop of stunning cultural landscapes,” she said.

Angela explained that by involving local communities, anthropologists, and cultural heritage experts, “Path to Alango” produces NFTs that accurately portray the rich culture that exists in Bali because it is designed not only as a source of income but also as the maintenance of cultural heritage, preservation, and promotion of Balinese ancestral knowledge and communities.

“Of the 11 NFTs launched, one collection, ‘Royal Topeng’, made history by generating a transaction of 97 thousand US dollars in just 15 minutes. This reminds us that human connection through art and culture can be felt in the digital era,” Angela remarked.

Meanwhile, CEO and Founder of Quantum Temple, Linda Adami, said from the total transaction of the collection, 40 percent will be given back to the Balinese people and immortalized through the use of blockchain technology. In addition, 5% of the auction proceeds are also allocated to social impact funds to help improve community welfare.

The distribution of NFT royalties is done transparently to cultural custodians to recognize the value of their work and provide a fairer revenue stream for the local community on a sustainable basis.

“We are excited to launch NFT’s inaugural heritage collection, ‘Paths to Alango’ featuring Bali, in NFT’s first historic auction, ‘Royal Topeng’. By perpetuating cultural traditions and blockchain knowledge, it enables a new pathway for positive heritage management and the transparent distribution of socio-economic benefits to the practitioners and communities involved,” said Linda Adami.

The transparent distribution of NFT royalties given directly to the people of Bali also provides a sustainable contribution to the local community.

“We also hope this redefines the values of cultural tourism and connects avid travelers with local communities around the world,” Linda Adami noted.

After the launch of the pilot project, it is planned to develop the concept of Artifact and Travel Experience NFTs in Bali and other destinations in Indonesia to provide more memorable and innovative tourism experiences. [traveltext.id]
