PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry ensures that all main and supporting facilities to human resources at Meruorah Hotel are ready to welcome the presence of state guests of heads of state, ministers, and other delegates during the 42nd ASEAN Summit.
“Meruorah Komodo Hotel Labuan Bajo (NTT), which was officially established in 2020, has the opportunity to become the main venue for large-scale international events, especially in the Southeast Asia region. Of course, we have prepared and conducted further reviews both in terms of facilities and services,” ASDP Indonesia Ferry Corporate Secretary Shelvy Arifin said in a written statement received by Indonesia Window here on Monday (4/9).
The Meruorah Hotel is located in the Labuan Bajo Integrated Marina Area. The ASDP-owned hotel, which is managed by a subsidiary of PT Indonesia Ferry Property (IFPRO) and operated by PT Hotel Indonesia Group (HIG), will be used as the main location of the ASEAN Summit for meeting, incentive, convention, and exhibition (MICE) activities and accommodation for delegates.
“The hotel staff have also been given training so that they can prioritize services with typical Indonesian hospitality, but with international standards,” Shelvy continued.
She said Hotel Meruorah has also worked with local MSMEs and professionals in handling food and beverage menus.
“To provide added value for the local community, we also collaborate with a number of local MSMEs in the supply of food raw materials that have been hygienically tested. Then for rattan ornaments and woven fabrics typical of NTT which are provided exclusively to complement each hotel room are also the result of collaboration with local businesses,” she remarked.
As a venue for MICE activities and accommodation for the ASEAN Summit, Hotel Meruorah provides 145 rooms and is equipped with a multifunction hall with a capacity of 1,000 people and the commercial Plaza Marina Labuan Bajo.
Some of the excellent facilities at the hotel include a bayfit fitness center overlooking the hills of Labuan Bajo, an infinity pool to an integrated commercial area consisting of a ferry dock and marina with a berth capacity of 134 berths, a beach club that can accommodate 450 people, food and beverage (F&B) outlets, drug stores, clothing stores, minimarkets, ATMs and banks and art shops owned by MSMEs.
“We hope that this activity can also provide both strategic and direct benefits, especially in promoting the beauty of Labuan Bajo and increasing employment to the original regional income (PAD) of West Manggarai Regency and providing a unique experience with nuances of Indonesian hospitality for guests and delegates who attend,” Shelvy said.
Previously, Hotel Meruorah also won the trust in the implementation of the International Association Women Police (IAWP) event in 2021 and six ministerial-level G20 side events, including Asia International Week Water (AIWW), 1st TWG Meeting, SAI20, 2nd ETWG Meeting, 2rd Sherpa Meeting, and 3rd DEWG Meeting.
