JOKOWI ASKED PUTERI INDONESIA TO PARTICIPATE IN PROMOTING TOURISM

PRESIDENT Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked Puteri Indonesia 2023 Farhana Nariswari Wisandana and the finalists for the event to participate in promoting tourist destinations, said the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno.

“Regarding tourism and the creative economy, it is requested that Puteri Indonesia will promote destinations wherever they come from and wherever they work,” Sandiaga told the media crew at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, Monday (5/22), 2023, after accompanying President Jokowi in a briefing for the winners and Miss Indonesia 2023 finalist.

The Minister of Tourism gave an example of one of the super priority destinations namely Labuanbajo in East Nusa Tenggara, which was promoted when hosting the 42nd ASEAN Summit on 10-11 May 2023.

According to Sandiaga, the President also conveyed several super priority destinations that would later be entrusted to be promoted by the ranks of Puteri Indonesia 2023, namely Lake Toba in North Sumatra (North Sumatra), Mandalika (West Nusa Tenggara), Likupang (North Sulawesi), and Borobudur (Central Java). ).

In addition, there are several other tourist destinations that will be developed such as Bangka Belitung, Thousand Islands, Wakatobi and Raja Ampat.

“This is what is expected of the younger generation to continue to build an awareness that we can increase the promotion of tourist destinations and creative economy products ranging from culinary, fashion and crafts,” said Sandiaga.

Sandiaga added that the line-up of winners and finalists for Puteri Indonesia 2023 had just returned from Lampung to observe the beauty of tourism and the products of the local creative economy.

Therefore, Sandiaga believes the winners and finalists of Puteri Indonesia 2023 can carry out the tourism promotion task entrusted to them.

Meanwhile, Chairperson of the Advisory Board of the Puteri Indonesia Foundation and Member of the Presidential Advisory Council, Putri Kus Wisnu Wardani, added that President Jokowi had introduced further information about the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago to the winners and finalists of Puteri Indonesia 2023.

“The president showed the video so that the children would know more about the IKN’s future plans,” said Putri.

Apart from the winner of Puteri Indonesia 2023, also present to receive a briefing from President Jokowi were the first runner-up and Miss Indonesia Tourism 2023, Yasinta Aurellia, from Lampung and the second runner-up or Miss Indonesia Environment 2023, Lulu Zaharani Krisna, from Lampung.
