INDOFEST 2023 INCREASES NATURE AND ADVENTURE TOURISM INDUSTRY

THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy welcomes the return of the Indofest 2023 outdoor exhibition which will take place on 1-4 June 2023 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno in the “Weekly Press Briefing” which took place in a hybrid manner, Monday (5/29), 2023, said the government really appreciates Indofest 2023 activities because this event can encourage the nature and adventure tourism industry and contribute on natural sustainability.

“We really appreciate Indofest 2023 which presents many things about adventure tourism. I am a lover of nature tourism and this is an extraordinary event,” said Sandiaga Uno.

Adventure tourism has great potential in encouraging post-pandemic tourist movements. This trend continues to show an increasing trend with the presence of a niche market based on a variety of special interest attractions. This opportunity needs to be used by Indonesian tourism industry players, especially tour operators and travel agents, to join and promote this activity.

Sandiaga also appreciated choosing the date for the event which coincided with the long holiday. This is expected to attract visitors. Hopefully Indofest 2023 can break the record of more than 40 thousand visitors attending and meet the sales target of IDR40 billion.

Meanwhile, the Director of Special Interest Tourism, Itok Parikesit, stated that adventure tourism in Indonesia has grown rapidly where the majority of the actors are individual, micro and small businesses. Adventure tourism activities in the tourism industry have had an economic impact that can be enjoyed by local communities and encourage sustainable tourism practices.

Likewise, the COS Event Chief Executive Officer, Disyon Toba, said that in particular he hopes that Indofest 2023 can increase the desire and participation of the younger generation (Gen-Z) to explore outdoor activities.

“Statistics in America state that Generation Z likes challenges the most. As many as 70 percent of Gen-Z like challenges or outdoor activities. This is what we want to try so that the future of Indonesia’s young generation is a generation that is healthy, courageous, and also likes nature activities and that’s where he can love the Indonesian people,” Disyon Toba noted.

The Chief Executive of Indofest 2023, Eva Fitri Yeni, added, Indofest 2023 will present various products from manufacturers and distributors of equipment for outdoor activities. Starting from Eiger, Consina, Arei, and many more.

“Indofest 2023 will also be filled with various other interesting activities such as talk shows, coaching clinics from outdoor activity experts, as well as performances from a row of musicians. Visitors, Eva said, can get tickets online through the Indofest application which can be downloaded on the Playstore as well as the Appstore. For purchase on location also remains available. Our target this year is 40 thousand visitors,” Eva concluded. [traveltext.id/photo special]
