GWN EXPO IN CONJUNCTION GTF 2023 SHOWS TOURISM SPOTS AND EKRAF PRODUCTS

THE ANNUAL event, Gebyar Wisata Nusantara Expo (GWN Expo) In Conjunction Gebyar Travel Fair (GTF) was held again at the Smesco Exhibition Hall, Jakarta, on 8-11 June 2023. Both of these events are still national exhibitions displaying information on all tourism destinations and Indonesia’s creative economy (Ekraf).

According to Sukur Saka, President Director of Wahyupromo Citra, Thursday (6/8), 2023 in Jakarta, said this exhibition has been going on since 2002 and until now the Gebyar Wisata Nasional Expo exhibition still carries prestige as an exhibition that specializes in the archipelago’s tourism potential.

“The second GWN event was previously always held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), this year it had to be moved because JCC is currently renovating for the ASEAN Summit event. Apart from that, this year too, the GWN Expo 2023 will coincide with the Gebyar Travel Fair exhibition, and is targeting a total of 10,000 visitors during the exhibition,” he said.

He explained, this year, the holding of the GWN Expo exhibition entered its 19th year with the aim of informing, marketing, promoting and branding the tourism and creative economy sectors and other related industrial sectors.

“Indonesia has become one of the countries that has managed to rise from the slump after the COVID-19 pandemic, this is a good indication for the revival of tourism and increasing tourist visits both local and foreign in the country,” he remarked.

Sukur added, GWN Expo and GTF, are special exhibitions featuring tourist destinations and the creative economy sector from various regions in Indonesia. And the GWN Expo has become a meeting place for tourism actors with tourism offices from various regions to inform about developments and new tourist destinations and to become an opportunity to sell tour packages.

Meanwhile Ni Made Ayu Marthini, Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy said that this year should be a momentum for the revival of the tourism sector and the creative economy.

“This year is the revival of Indonesian tourism, we must welcome foreign and domestic tourists. This can be one of the momentums to make tourism the spearhead of Indonesia’s development. So we have to succeed in the revival of Indonesian tourism,” she noted.

In holding the GWN Expo in 2023, which was attended by more than 45 participants, featuring; natural tourism, cultural tourism, historical tourism, artificial tourism, culinary tourism, religious tourism, sports tourism, marine tourism, educational tourism, national parks, hotels & resorts, travel agents, airlines, other tourism supporters.

“The B to B and B to C scale exhibition occupies 2,000 square meters of land and a table top tourism business forum is also being held, selling tour packages, talk shows, archipelago dance festivals, fashion shows, traditional clothing, interactive dialogues, meet & great communities, and many more,” Ayu Marthini concluded.
