TRAVELOKA IS OFFICIALLY INCORPORATED AS A MEMBER OF UNWTO AFFILIATION

TRAVELOKA’S online travel platform announced they have officially joined as members of the UN Bureau Affiliation for UNWTO Tourism.

“We actively carry out various innovations as well as intensifying responsible and sustainable tourism advocacy. One of them is by joining as an affiliate member of UNWTO and taking a role in a variety of high -level international discussion forums, UNWTO Conference,” said one of the founders of Traveloka Albert, in a press broadcast received in Jakarta.

Traveloka announced the membership at the UNWTO Conference at Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Thursday (6/15). Traveloka is the only Southeast Asian travel platform that is a member of UNWTO affiliation.

The platform is currently operating in six countries in Southeast Asia. Traveloka uses the opportunity for participation in the UNWTO forum to ensure the recovery of the sustainable tourism industry in the region.

As an affiliate member, Traveloka can interact directly with other affiliate members, have a provocation with tourism leaders, involved in high-level dialogue both at the regional and global levels, and access to global tourism trends provided by UNWTO.

Global tourism shows the level of recovery after Pandemic. The UNWTO tourism barometer shows that there are 235 million people on international trips worldwide in the first quarter of 2023. The number of people traveling in the first quarter of 2023 is twice higher than the same period 2022, or around 80% of the number of tourists before Pandemic.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy recorded foreign tourist arrivals in the first quarter of 2023 reached 2.25 million visits or an increase of almost six times compared to the first quarter of 2022. This year, the Indonesian government is targeting 1.4 billion domestic tourist movements and 8.5 million tourist trips foreign.
