IT IS ENSURED PREPARATION PROCESS FOR APPLICATION OF GOLDEN VISA CONTINUES

IT IS ensured that preparations for the implementation of the golden visa policy are continuously carried out by the Indonesian government so that it can become an option for quality tourists. This policy can be an option for quality tourists, especially for those who want to invest in Indonesia.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, to reporters, said the golden visa itself is an immigration product that allows foreign nationals to enter and live in Indonesia for a period of 5 to 10 years.

“Golden visa holders will have different benefits from general visa holders. Namely, the procedures and requirements for visa applications and immigration matters are easier and faster, mobility with multiple entries, longer stay periods, the right to own assets within the country, as well as being a fast track route for applying for citizenship,” he said.

He explained, the plan is to give 10 types of golden visas, namely for individual investors, including investors who are founders of companies, investors who do not set up companies, foreign diaspora ex-Indonesian citizens, global talent, and digital nomads.

Quoted from Indonesia’s Secretariat website, the golden visa was issued by the government to attract significant foreign investment and encourage economic growth and employment.

“So they are in the category of quality tourists because they invest and will stay for a long term of 5-10 years. Not only investing, investors are also expected to bring technology to Indonesia that can be applied in the development of tourism and the creative economy,” he remarked.

The response to the golden visa policy was also welcomed by investors. At the 2023 International Tourism Investment Forum (ITIF) in Bali recently, many investors asked this question.

“There are quite a lot of requests from investors than investors because they will enter and leave Indonesia and that requires certainty of visa regulations and this is very urgent. Currently the process related to the golden visa is still in the synchronization stage under the coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment. The actual target date is the end of June 2023 and possibly estimated at the end of September 2023,” Sandiaga concluded. [traveltext.id]
