MINISTRY PROPOSES ADDITIONAL INDICATIVE CEILING FOR 2024 BUDGET

THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy proposed an additional indicative ceiling for 2024 of IDR117,344,832,000 in a working meeting with Commission X DPR RI.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, in a working meeting held at the DPR RI Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (9/12), 2023, said that for the 2024 budget year, the Tourism Ministry had previously proposed a temporary indicative ceiling of IDR3,416,787,309,000. Thus, currently the indicative ceiling for the 2024 budget year of the Tourism Ministry has increased to IDR3,534,132,141,000 or around 3.43%.

Regarding the addition of the budget ceiling, Minister Sandiaga appreciated the approval and support given by Commission X DPR. “This is something we really didn’t expect, so indeed (the additional budget) was allocated for things we really need to build our tourism human resources, especially in super priority destinations,” said Sandiaga.

This additional budget, said Sandiaga, is planned to be allocated for the construction of two new state tourism polytechnics in Indonesia, namely the Manado Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar) and the Solo Raya Poltekpar. Apart from that, this additional budget is also in line with the third national priority of the 2024 RKP (government work plan), namely increasing quality and competitive human resources.

This received a positive response from Agustina Wilujeng Pramestuti as chairman of the meeting. According to her, Commission X and Tourism Ministry it is necessary to study further the role of polytechnics and tourism in developing creative and creative human resources in Indonesia.

“This study and discussion need to be deepened further to optimize the role of polytechnics and tourism in improving the performance of creative and creative human resources in the country,” concluded Agustina. [traveltext.id]
