UBUD WILL BECOME THE PROTOTYPE CENTER OF WORLD GASTRONOMY TOURISM

UBUD, Bali, is projected to become a world gastronomic prototype. Gastronomic tourism destinations themselves are the art of studying food from the process to the final result. The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) from the UN will come to Bali to finalize Ubud as a prototype.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, during The Weekly Press Briefing in Jakarta, Monday (12/11), 2023, he explained that Ubud was chosen as a pilot project because of the readiness and good collaboration of tourism and creative tourism actors and stakeholders there.

“The Ministry of Tourism together with the Gianyar Regional Government and the United Nations World Tourism Organization are working on a project to develop Ubud as a gastronomic tourism destination. “Ubud was chosen as the pilot project because of the readiness and good collaboration of the stakeholders,” he said.

Sandiaga explained that UNWTO would make an official visit and present the results at the UNWTO Gastronomy Tourism Development which will be held in Bali, on December 14 2023. One of the discourses that will be echoed in the UNWTO Gastronomy Tourism Development is the formation of a ‘Gastronomy Tourism Club’.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Gianyar Regency Tourism Office, Pande Putu Ayu Sri Ratnawati, explained that with the variety of local food and culinary delights in Ubud, she hopes that Ubud will become increasingly known for its beauty.

“A gastronomic work team has been formed which will follow up on this. The food in Ubud, from breakfast, lunch to dinner, will be a world model, as well as traditional culinary delights which will be packaged in a healthy way,” she concluded. [traveltext.id]
