SUPPORT for the development of tourism potential and the creative economy (parekraf) in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) area has been rolling in and has received support from investors. In “The Weekly Press Briefing” at the Sapta Pesona Building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (01/10), 2024, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, said that this support was proven by the progress of a number of projects to build tourism and creative supporting facilities at IKN which had been inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in 2023.
“The President has ground broken several projects in the tourism and creative sector, especially for the accommodation sector at IKN. The projects include the construction of the Nusantara Hotel by the Nusantara Consortium with an investment value of IDR 20 trillion. This ground breaking was carried out on 21 September 2023 and the operational target is August 2024,” he said.
Then, there was also a ground breaking for the construction of the Vasanta Hotel by PT Sirius Surya Sentosa (Vasanta Group) which was carried out on September 23 2023.
Then, PT Pakuwon Jati through the PT Pakuwon Nusantara Abadi entity on November 1 2023 carried out the ground breaking for the construction of a superblock project in the form of a shopping center, condominium and three hotels with the area name Pakuwon Nusantara with a total investment of around IDR5 trillion.
This development, Sandiaga continued that is in collaboration with the Marriott Group as operator through the brands The Westin, Four Points and Tribute Portfolio.
“Furthermore, there is also a BSH Community Hub in the form of a hotel and restaurant by PT Karya BSH Mandiri whose ground breaking will be December 21 2023. Not only that, PT ARCS House Wisata Indonesia will also build a hotel and resort with the Jambuluwuk brand in the IKN area,” he remarked.
Sandiaga also explained that we continue to promote investment in IKN, especially in the tourism and creative sector because we need to build accommodation. By investing we also encourage (development) in terms of tourism and creative economy products.
He emphasized that tourism development in IKN will prioritize the concept of ecotourism. The forest area (in IKN) is confirmed to be 75% tropical forest and 25% is newly built as part of the facility.
On a similar occasion, the Deputy for Social, Cultural and Community Empowerment at the IKN Authority, Alimuddin, said that currently the progress of IKN’s physical development has reached around 70%.
In the third groundbreaking activity, the investment value invested by the private sector and several State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) reached IDR41.4 trillion.
“To provide information and increase optimism about the transfer and development of IKN, the IKN Authority will hold an IKN Fair on January 26-28 at Kota Kasablanka Mall, South Jakarta. IKN Fair would like to convey that IKN exists and wants to collaborate with other parties, including the private sector and ministries, to jointly encourage what IKN looks like now and in the future.” Alimuddin elaborated.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Information and Public Communication at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Usman Kansong, added that the physical development of IKN needs to be encouraged by a good public communication process to provide information to the public and build optimism about the existence of IKN as the city of Indonesia’s future.
“Therefore, the Ministry of Communication and Information will create IKN pedia which can be used as a reference by various parties to obtain official information regarding IKN. We will create an IKN pedia which contains all information about IKN. Start with progress development, philosophy, history, even the role of ministries, we will include everything in IKN pedia,” Usman stated.
He concluded that in the future IKNpedia will be like Wikipedia and be in the form of a living document, so it can be continuously updated, and contain various data, graphics, video, audio. We plan to launch it at the same time as the opening of the Nusantara Fair. [traveltext.id]
