AP I SERVES 69.835 MILLION PASSENGER MOVEMENTS THROUGHOUT 2023

PT ANGKASA Pura I (AP I) recorded that it had served 69,835,714 passenger movements at 15 managed airports throughout 2023.

According to the President Director of AP I MMA, Indah Preastuty, said this number increased by 34% compared to the number of passenger movements in the 2022 period which reached 52,286,976 movements. In detail, passenger movements at 15 AP I airports in 2023 will consist of 54,851,190 passengers on domestic routes and 14,984,524 passengers on international routes.

Indah said that the growth in passenger traffic throughout 2023 continues the positive trend in 2022, while continuing the recovery of company performance after the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, AP I also noted that the recovery rate for the total number of passenger movements at 15 airports in 2023 compared to 2019 reached 86%.

“The achievement of 69.8 million passengers throughout 2023 has also succeeded in meeting the target we set at the beginning of the year, so this is also an achievement in itself for AP I,” explained Indah in her official statement, Thursday (01/11), 2024)

Indah said that traffic growth throughout 2023 cannot be separated from the number of airlines that are reactivating and opening new routes at AP I airports. She said that domestic routes still dominate compared to international routes.

However, he assessed that the number of passenger movements on international routes would experience an increase in 2023 compared to 2022.

“The number of passenger movements on international routes throughout 2023 will increase by 155% compared to 2022, while the number of aircraft movements on international routes will increase by 144%,” Indah remarked.

The growth in passenger movements was also followed by aircraft movements and cargo movements throughout 2023. For the number of aircraft movements, AP I recorded 608,549 movements, or a 10% growth compared to 2022 of 552,851 movements.

Of this number, 520,818 were domestic route aircraft movements and 87,731 were international route aircraft movements. Meanwhile, from the cargo side, AP I served 481,488 tons of cargo, growing by 4% compared to the 2022 record of 464,433 tons of cargo.
