NUSANTARA SMART CITY DESIGNED TO RESPOND TO CITIZENS’ NEEDS: OIKN

THE NUSANTARA Capital Authority (OIKN) stated that the Nusantara smart city has a human-centered design that meets and responds to the needs of the community that lives in it.

“Talking about city development, we must make sure who the end-user or customer is. It is not about what we want, but what the Nusantara community as a customer wants,” Head of the OIKN Smart City Project Management Office Daniel Oscar Baskoro stated at the Nusantara Fair event held by OIKN here on Friday (01/26), 2024.

Baskoro remarked that Nusantara smart city’s eight customers are residents, agency managers, the academic community, business or entrepreneurs, OIKN employees, government employees, health workers, and first responders.

The progress in construction of the Nusantara smart city is carried out in stages, and some digital infrastructures have begun to be built, he noted.

Based on the Nusantara Smart City Blueprint published by OIKN, the implementation of smart city development aims to improve the quality of life of its citizens through better access to services and facilities and creating a cleaner and safer environment.

The blueprint states that OIKN will increase the capacity of mastery and development of technology as well as optimize the use of natural resources effectively by prioritizing the comfort and privacy of citizens.

The smart city strategy aims to achieve the key performance index (KPI) target stated in the Nusantara Capital City Law through six domains, 21 sub-domains, and 67 smart features.

There is also the enterprise architecture document that serves as a technical reference for the development of Nusantara.

The six smart city domains encompass governance, transportation and mobility, living, natural resources and energy, industry and human resources, and built environment and infrastructure. [antaranews/photo special]
