INDONESIA low-cost airline AirAsia is preparing 350,000 flight seats during the Eid period which runs from 3-18 April 2024 in an effort to anticipate a surge in travelers.
“Indonesia AirAsia has prepared various strategic steps to anticipate the surge in travelers, one of which is by providing at least 160 to 250 additional flights to accommodate the high demand for plane tickets during the Eid period,” said President Director of Indonesia AirAsia, Veranita Yosephine, in Jakarta.
The number of seats has increased by 27% compared to the same period in 2023. It is recorded that in 2023, around 2.1 million passengers have used these low-cost flights to travel to various destinations in Indonesia. Until February 2024, there will be 12 domestic routes, with the newest routes being Denpasar-Kupang and Denpasar-Lampung.
Veranita also said that his party was trying to support the government in controlling the high public interest in wanting to go home by providing more fleet capacity. It is hoped that this will help stabilize airline ticket prices on the market and remain affordable for travelers.
According to the Ministry of Transportation, the number of homecoming travelers who will travel by plane during the 2024 Eid homecoming period from 3-18 April 2024 is predicted to reach 4,406,641 people. This figure has increased by 12 percent when compared to the Eid period in 2023.
Thus, the company will prioritize the comfort, security and safety of passengers on every flight. All passengers using this flight on domestic routes will get a free cabin baggage quota of 7 kg and a baggage quota of 20 kg.
