PELITA AIR FINALLY OPENS A NEW DIRECT ROUTE JAKARTA-KENDARI-JAKARTA

PT PERTAMINA owned airline PT Pelita Air Service (PAS) or Pelita Air has launched a new direct route Jakarta-Kendari-Jakarta. The first flight of this route was conducted from Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Jakarta (CGK) to Halu Oleo Kendari Airport (KDI) on Wednesday (04/24), 2024.

According to Pertamina Corporate Communications, Fadjar Djoko, the Jakarta-Kendari (round-trip) route is the second new route to be launched in April 2024. Previously, Pelita Air had opened the Jakarta-Aceh route on April 3, 2024.

“This brings Pelita Air’s total number of routes to 13 from the west to the east of Indonesia. Specifically, the 3 destinations served by Pelita Air are Jakarta, Bali, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Padang, Palembang, Pekanbaru, Balikpapan, Pontianak, Banjarmasin, Sorong, Aceh and Kendari.

“In the future, Pelita Air will continue to open routes to other popular tourist and business destinations in Indonesia,” he said in a written statement.

Meanwhile, Pelita Air Service Commercial Director, Asa Perkasa added that Kendari and Southeast Sulawesi are cities and provinces in Indonesia with quite large economic potential. Starting with mining, agriculture, fisheries and tourism.

“It is hoped that the opening of the Jakarta-Kendari route by Pelita Air can further improve accessibility by providing additional flight options from Jakarta to Kendari. As for the flight schedule of the Jakarta-Kendari (round-trip) Pelita Air route, it is available with a frequency of 7 times a week. The aircraft used is Airbus type “A320-200 with a capacity of 180 economy class or silver class seats,” he remarked.

He explained that the schedule is Jakarta-Kendari IP810 at 06:15 WIT-10:10 WITA every day and Kendari-Jakarta IP811 at 11:15 WITA-13:10 WITA every day. Like other Pelita Air flights, passengers on the Jakarta-Kendari (round-trip) route will receive snacks, drinks and 20 kilograms (kg) of free baggage.

In addition, passengers will be able to enjoy free entertainment, which can be accessed via Wireless Inflight Entertainment (W-IFE) using the Tripper application on each passenger’s smartphone, tablet and laptop.

Tickets for this new route can now be booked on Pelita Air’s website and mobile application. Mobile check-in is also available through the Pelita Air mobile application from 24 hours to 4 hours prior to scheduled departure.

Check-in facilities are also available at the Pelita Air check-in kiosk service located in the check-in counter area of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Terminal. The Pelita Air check-in kiosk opens 8 hours before the scheduled flight and closes 1 hour before the scheduled flight. [sources/photo special].
