SANDIAGA: BALI COMMUNITY TO COOPERATION TO IMPROVE TOURISM QUALITY

THE MINISTER of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, asked all elements of Pentahelix, including the tourism community, to strengthen cooperation to ensure that tourism and creative economy activities in the country run well.

This was conveyed by Sandiaga after attending the Netas (Meeting Communities) activity at the Superlative Gallery, Bali recently, saying that communities play an important role in supervising or monitoring the movements and behavior of tourists. Because this tourist destination is very wide. We have to make sure that everybody joins hands. The government cannot work alone. So, we need to present a pentahelix cooperation.

“The main focus of Indonesia’s tourism development is quality and sustainable tourism. So, it’s not just a question of the number of tourists, but tourists who have quality in terms of length of stay or longer stay and have a positive impact on society, especially Bali,” he said.

He explained that especially from an economic perspective and from the perspective of maintaining customs, good behavior is in line with Balinese taksu. And we hope that we can bring this together, in cooperation with the community.

Sandiaga also said that the room occupancy rate in the Nusa Dua area, where the 2024 World Water Forum will be held, is already full. It was recorded that as of May 18, 2024, the hotel occupancy rate had reached over 95%. This means that the South Bali area is fully booked.

“Some World Water Forum delegates have even found accommodation quite far away from the main venue. Therefore, we will make sure that in the future, MICE activities will not only focus on South Bali, but also on other areas in Bali,” Sandiaga concluded. [traveltext.id]
