THE INDONESIA’S Tourism and Creative Economy is collaborating with PT Bank Central Asia Tbk, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), and Grab to improve attractions and amenities in tourist destinations.
According to the Ministry’s Senior Expert Staff, Nia Niscaya, in “The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno,” which was held in a hybrid manner at the Sapta Pesona Building in Jakarta on Monday (07/22), 2024 said that in order to improve attractions and amenities in tourist destinations, synergy and cooperation with all relevant stakeholders is needed.
“The tourism and creative economy sector cannot stand alone; we need to work together. This year, BCA is once again committed to developing and supporting the ADWI 2024 Tourism Village. During the implementation of ADWI from 2021-2023, BCA has provided support to 15 tourism villages, including Glodok Chinatown Tourism Village in Jakarta, Saba Baduy Culture Tourism Village in Lebak, West Java, Village “Mount Padang Tourism Site in Cianjur, West Java, Cement Tourism Village in Blitar, East Java, and Pahawang Tourism Village in Lampung,” Nia Niscaya remarked.
She continued, then Dayun Tourism Village in Siak Riau, Silokek Tourism Village in Sijunjung, West Sumatra (Tourism Village managed by Bakti BCA), Kampung Warna Warna Tigarihit Tourism Village in Simalungun, North Sumatra, Kampung Melayu Tourism Village (Benua Melayu Laut) in Pontianak, and Village Malangga Tourism in Toli Toli, Central Sulawesi.
“There are also the Edelweiss Wonokitri Tourism Village in East Java, the Prai Ijing Tebara Tourism Village in NTT, the Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village in Tomohon, North Sulawesi, the Terong Tourism Village in Belitung, and the Nagari Sijunjung Traditional Village Tourism Village in West Sumatra. Don’t look at the number 15 as small, but it shows a clear commitment and provides inspiration to work together, so we are grateful to BCA,” Nia explained.
BCA also plans to bring Tourism Villages to ITB Berlin 2025. In June 2024, BCA will even expand market access to 5 villages supported by the Bali Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF).
“So, these are forms of commitment from BCA that provide empowerment to Tourism Villages, proving that ADWI does not stop there, but ADWI continues to be promoted, developed, including collaboration with BCA,” Nia noted.
Meanwhile, the collaboration with BMKG includes the preparation of impact-based weather forecasts as recommendations for tourism activities for tourists and the tourism industry. The pilot project will be conducted in Labuan Bajo, NTT.
The next collaboration with Grab is the creation of the Grab Security and Safety Center feature, which provides a page with a variety of complete information such as emergency contacts, a list of addresses of police stations and embassies, hospitals, etc. that tourists can use in case of an emergency. After Bali and Jakarta, this feature will be available in Labuan Bajo, Yogyakarta and Batam.
“We don’t want anything to happen, but if it does, there are steps we can take,” Nia concluded. [traveltext.id]
