THE CEREEMONY and celebration of the 79th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) in new capital of Nusantara (IKN) for the first time symbolizes the preparation of a more Indonesia Forward (Indonesia Maju).
According to the Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Information, Usman Kansong in an online discussion attended from Jakarta, Saturday. (08/10), 2024 said that it could be said that this is a symbol of the transition of government and at the same time a symbol towards an advanced Indonesia with the goal of moving the nation’s capital which will be completed in 2045 as a long-term project.
Usman then explained that if followed from the regulatory side, holding a state ceremony to commemorate the independence of the Republic of Indonesia in two different places this time was also considered not to violate the rules in force in Indonesia.
In all assessments and meetings that are routinely held to prepare for this event to be held on August 17, 2024, Usman said that the government is making maximum efforts to ensure that this moment to commemorate history runs smoothly.
“So, we have made sure that according to the rules there are no aspects that have been violated, in every meeting we also involve BPIP (Pancasila Ideology Development Agency) to check the existing rules and regulations. So, in fact, nothing was violated,” he said.
Therefore, the implementation of the ceremony and celebration of the 79th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in two places for the first time is a historic moment that must be remembered as a milestone towards a new chapter for Indonesia to become an increasingly advanced country.
To enliven its implementation, the government also invited local communities, religious leaders and traditional leaders to participate in the celebration of the 79th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at the IKN.
In fact, not all people are allowed to attend the ceremony in person, and only those selected by the East Kalimantan provincial government are allowed to enliven the atmosphere at the IKN.
However, there are other alternatives for the wider community to witness the government’s 79th anniversary celebration at the IKN. Facilities such as videotrons, community viewing events in the IKN area, and broadcasts on various TV stations are some of the options being offered so that the Indonesian people can witness this historic moment.
“For the wider community to be able to watch this series of events, they can take advantage of the provincial government’s event, which is holding joint screenings, and there are also videotrons at several points that will broadcast the 79th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia ceremony both at the IKN and also in Jakarta,” Usman concluded.
