MINISTER of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno revealed that the awarding event, Indonesian Tourism Marketing Appreciation (APPI) 2024, is believed to be able to strengthen the promotion of tourism and creative economy (parekraf) potential in regions in Indonesia.
In the APPI 2024 Award Ceremony at Soesilo Soedarman Hall, Sapta Pesona Building, Central Jakarta, Monday (09/09), 2024, Sandiaga said that the award event, which was attended by all provinces as well as regencies and cities throughout Indonesia, allowed participants to compete by making short videos Proud of Traveling in Indonesia (BBWI) that promoted tourism and creative economy (parekraf) potential in their respective regions. This promotional video competition was held for a period of four months from April to July 2024 with different categories each month.
The four categories in question are “Culinary” in April 2024, then the theme of “Regional Events” in May 2024. Then, “Arts and Culture” will be the theme of the June 2024 video, which will continue with the theme of “Leading Tourist Destinations” in July 2024.
The implementation of APPI in 2024 collaborated with tourism stakeholders, namely HeHa Group, Kuku Bima, Trac and Artotel Group, to add appreciation to the winners of the competition who have done their best to promote their respective regions.
“This is a creative video competition Bangga Berwisata di Indonesia or Proud of Traveling in Indonesia that has reached the final stage, and, in this competition, we showcase the creativity of all local governments in Indonesia in promoting their tourist destinations in one-minute videos,” said Sandiaga.
In addition, he continued, this award ceremony is also a way of recognizing the enthusiasm and innovation of local governments in marketing the potential of tourism and the creative economy in their regions. Let’s support our destinations because we are proud of Indonesian tourism.
Meanwhile, the Deputy for Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, added that as a form of support for participants, her party has held technical guidance on domestic tourism marketing strategy through digitalization.
“It is hoped that through this activity, each region can continue to have the spirit to adapt, innovate and work together to improve domestic tourism to support BBWI, as well as to increase or support job creation in support of strengthening the national economy,” Ni Made said.
The winners in the four categories include: (1). Winner of the BBWI Creative Video Contest (April 2024) with the theme “Culinary”; Provincial Champion: Central Kalimantan; Regency/City Champion: Malang Regency. (2). Winner of the BBWI Creative Video Competition (May 2024) with the theme “Regional Events”; Province Champion: Central Kalimantan; Regency/City Champion: Yahukimo Regency.
(3). Winner of the BBWI Creative Video Contest (June 2024) with the theme “Art and Culture”; Province Champion: Central Kalimantan; Regency/City Champion: Yahukimo Regency. (4).
