EKRAF MINISTRY PROPOSES ADDITIONAL BUDGET OF IDR2.42 TRILLION IN 2025

THE MINISTRY of Creative Economy (Ekraf) has proposed an additional budget of IDR2.42 trillion in 2025 to be able to present programs that are in line with the government’s priority goals.

According to the Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya in a working meeting with Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives in Jakarta, Wednesday (12/04), 2024, said that this additional budget was proposed with the consideration that the available budget for next year of IDR279.61 billion was not sufficient to meet the needs in implementing the government’s priority programs as stated in Asta Cita and National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN).

Riefky said that the additional budget of IDR2,422,556,275,000 was needed to support the achievement of Indonesia’s economic growth target of eight percent. In addition, as a new ministry, the Ministry of Creative Economy must ensure that public services continue.

“(Public services) must not stop, especially in serving stakeholders in 17 sub-sectors. So, as a new ministry, we also need adequate infrastructure,” he said.

Riefky explained that the flagship programs of the Ministry of Creative Economy are divided into four clusters. The first cluster is related to the grand design of creative economy development in terms of regulations, data synchronization between ministries/institutions, and cooperation between ministries/institutions and industry players.

Then, the second cluster is strengthening internal consolidation, which refers to strengthening bureaucratic reform, building human resource (HR) capacity, and strengthening identity as a new ministry. Then, in the third cluster is presenting programs that trigger job creation and increasing the capacity of creative economy actors in leading programs.

“This cluster includes strengthening programs in all value chains. From creation, production, promotion, marketing, distribution to consumption,” Riefky affirmed.

The fourth cluster of the flagship program of the Ministry of Creative Economy/Bekraf is making the creative economy the new engine of growth. “In this cluster, we present a program that aims to develop the creative economy sector by providing protection and commercialization of intellectual property, improving the welfare of creative economy actors and improving the competitiveness of creative economy infrastructure,” he explained.

In response, the Deputy Chairman of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Rahayu Saraswati Djojohadikusumo, as the chairperson of the meeting, approved the additional budget proposal submitted by the Ministry of Creative Economy. Thus, the total new budget ceiling for the Ministry of Creative Economy in 2025 will be IDR2,702,162,773,000.

“Commission VII urges the Minister of Creative Economy to communicate with the Ministry of National Development Planning (PPN)/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), the Ministry of Finance and the President to fight for the additional 2025 budget ceiling,” Sara concluded. [traveltext.id]
