DURING the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) 2025, Garuda Indonesia and Citilink will prepare 122 flight routes. Later, for Garuda Indonesia, there will be 49 domestic flights and 19 international flights, while Citilink will have 73 domestic flights and 5 international flights.
“We have already submitted the routes for Garuda and also for Citilink. We are at 49 domestic and 19 international for Garuda, while Citilink has 73 domestic and also 5 international. So in total there are 122 domestic and also 24 international,” explained Garuda Indonesia President Director Wamildan Tsani in a press conference at the Ministry of State Enterprises Office in Jakarta on Friday (12/06), 2024.
Wamildan explained that the routes also pay attention to several areas with tourism potential. According to him, this will increase visits to tourist attractions.
“Of course, we are working with friends in the regions, of course, along with the increase in the number of passengers, visits to our tourist attractions will automatically increase,” he continued.
Some flight destinations he gave as examples that could increase are flights to Denpasar and Sorong.
“So the tourist attractions in Denpasar are still popular and in Sorong the number is also increasing,” he explained.
He also revealed that there are changing weather conditions during the Christmas and New Year holidays. For this, Garuda Indonesia has also prepared safe safety standards.
“Regarding the expected weather during the peak season, it is true that in the RDP with Commission V yesterday, it was also communicated that there is indeed cold weather, especially cold weather coming from Siberia, which of course will make the weather conditions during this peak season maybe a little bit different. That’s information from BMKG and I’m a pilot, so the name of the flight, no matter what conditions we have, we have our own standards,” Wamildan concluded. [sources/photo special]
