THE MINISTRY of Tourism has inspected Blimbingsari Airport, Banyuwangi and ensured the airport’s readiness to receive tourists during the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 holidays.
According to the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa, who started her working visit to Banyuwangi, Friday (12/13), 2024 said that I directly checked the readiness and completeness of facilities and infrastructure as well as the facilities prepared by Injourney Airport as the airport manager. Starting from the flow of passengers to pick up luggage, the cleanliness of the toilets, the presentation of regional musical performances, to the presence of Christmas and New Year’s Posts, which will begin operations on December 18, 2024.
“Today we have an agenda of activities in Banyuwangi, as well as checking the readiness of the airport, ahead of Christmas and New Year. Because it is predicted that on December 18, there will be movement of domestic tourists to various destinations,” said Ni Luh Puspa.
As one of the National Tourism Strategic Areas (KSPN), Banyuwangi is an important area for tourism development. Banyuwangi is also known for the beauty of its various natural destinations and culinary delights. Therefore, this review is an effort to ensure that tourist arrivals can take place safely and comfortably.
The Ministry of Tourism has issued a Circular of the Minister of Tourism Number SE/1/PP.03.00/MP/2024 dated December 4, 2024 regarding the implementation of safe, comfortable and enjoyable tourism activities during the celebration of Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025.
“This circular will be distributed to regional heads, especially the tourism office in 38 provinces, as well as tourism business associations and tourism managers, so that they can provide excellent services, especially the safety of tourists is something that must be considered so that the Christmas and New Year moments go safely, comfortably and pleasantly,” she affirmed.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Tourism, the number of domestic tourists in December 2024 is expected to reach 78.2 million tourists, while the number of foreign tourists is expected to reach 1.02 million-1.325 million tourists.
“For foreign tourist visits in 2024, the total has reached 11.57 million out of the upper target of 14.3 million. We are optimistic that the Christmas and New Year holidays in December can achieve the upper target,” Ni Luh Puspa concluded. [traveltext.id]
