MINISTRY PROMOTES EKRAF TO STRENGTHEN DEV’T IN MERAUKE, SOUTH PAPUA

THE MINISTRY of Creative Economy is fully committed to strengthen the development of creative economy (ekraf) in Merauke, South Papua and its surroundings.

The Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya in his statement, Friday (12/13), 2024 said that in an effort to strengthen the creative economy potential in Merauke, his party is holding a creative economy incubation program for culinary, music and performing arts sub-sectors. This series of incubation is scheduled to be held on Saturday (14/14/2024) during his working visit to Merauke.

“This creative economy incubation aims to create a conducive ecosystem for creative economy players. So that actors can develop innovative ideas, improve business skills and capabilities, and build wider networks,” Riefky said.

Riefky said the three sub-sectors developed during his visit have great potential to make the creative economy a new growth engine for the economy of the Merauke community. On the culinary side, Merauke is one of the locations of the Food Estate, which plays an important role in meeting the food and agricultural needs of the South Papua region and surrounding areas.

“By using technology and innovation to support the development of the creative economy, and through collaboration between the agricultural sector and the creative economy sector, it is hoped that it can create products that have added value and are competitive in the local, national and international markets,” he said.

Meanwhile, the incubation of the performing arts and music sub-sector will be accelerated through an activity entitled “Ermukim Party”. This event consists of dance and rap competitions that showcase the talents of talented young people in South Papua.

“Through this activity, it is hoped that more and more young people in Merauke City can unite and support each other to develop their talents in every element they master,” concluded Riefky. [traveltext.id]
