PT ANGKASA Pura (AP) Indonesia (InJourney Airports) reported that the number of passengers at the 37 airports it manages reached 6 million people during the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 holiday period.
“Nationally, until the 12th day of Christmas and New Year, which will end on January 5, 2025. But until today, there have been about 6 million passengers that we have managed well in all our airports in 37 airports,” said InJourney Airports President Director Faik Fahmi in Tangerang, Monday (12/30), 2024.
He revealed that cumulatively, the predicted passenger movement during this period could reach 9.3 million people or increase by about 6% when compared to transportation in the same period last year of 8.71 million.
However, he continued, up to 12 days after the Christmas celebration, the number of passenger movement traffic at all the Indonesian airports it manages has increased by up to 10% of 6 million movements.
“This means that the amount of traffic we serve is 10% higher than last year, but it is still moving because we are targeting 9.3 million during the 19-day Christmas and New Year period,” he said.
He also revealed that out of the 6 million passenger movement, around 1,200 extra flights have been realized during the year-end holiday period.
“About 1,200 extra flights have been realized, but later there will be extra flights again for the return flow,” he affirmed.
Fahmi revealed that the InJourney Airports airport that is the busiest airport during this long holiday period is Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten, with an estimated number of passengers reaching 3.05 million or an increase of about 7% from the previous 2.85 million passengers.
“Out of the 37 airports that AP Indonesia manages, the highest is of course Soetta Airport, Tangerang, Banten. Then you have Bali, Makasar, Kualanamu, those are the four biggest airports that have experienced a pretty significant increase. Alhamdulillah, so far everything is running smoothly,” he said.
In the midst of high air traffic at the end of this year, Angkasa Pura Indonesia’s priority remains to maintain the smooth operation of the airport, including aspects of safety, security, service and health.
Therefore, his party will continue to strive to provide various services to provide the best travel experience for the public during the long year-end holidays.
In terms of service, InJourney Airports presents the best customer experience that can be felt by the 5 senses of air passengers, namely sights through Christmas and New Year themed decorations, then sound with live music performances.
Then aroma (smell) with typical Indonesian fragrances, taste (taste) through cooperation with tenants presenting typical Christmas and New Year food and drinks, and direct service (touch) through the presence of Christmas and New Year themed costumes worn by airport staff.
“Soetta Airport is all comfortable, we can anticipate traffic well and we no longer have complaints about the air conditioning because it is already cold. So we feel the changes that we continue to make and hope that it will be even better in the future,” Fahmi concluded. [antaranews]
