THE HEAD of the Indonesian Capital Authority (OIKN), Basuki Hadimuljono, said that Taman Safari Indonesia (TSI) is interested in establishing an educational recreational area about animals in the Indonesian Capital (IKN), East Kalimantan.
Pak Bas, as he is affectionately known, said that Taman Safari Indonesia is preparing with investors to immediately invest in IKN to build an amusement park.
“Yesterday we met with Taman Safari (Indonesia), they also want to come in. They are in the process of getting sponsors or investors. There will be several (other investors) later, but I can’t say now for ‘theme park’, but it’s in the process,” he said after the 2025-2029 RPJMN Musrenbangnas event, at the Bappenas office, Monday (12/30), 2024.
Pak Bas could not confirm when the groundbreaking for the amusement park would take place. “Later, when the time comes, when they have arrived, then I will talk,” he said.
He only confirmed that OIKN will visit the Taman Safari Indonesia office today. The visit is to further discuss the plans for the amusement park to be built.
“There are already several alternatives (locations) that they (Taman Safari Indonesia) have chosen. They were there (IKN). I came here, I went to their office (Taman Safari Indonesia), we will discuss it more seriously,” Basuki affirmed.
Earlier, PT Alamtri Resources Indonesia Tbk (ADRO) President Director Garibaldi Thohir or Boy Thohir said there were 16 mining entrepreneurs interested in building a theme park in IKN.
This has been communicated to the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi). The existence of an amusement park in IKN is expected to attract public interest to visit the new capital. Later, this amusement park will be one of the facilities for residents around the IKN area to enjoy their vacations. [sources/photo special]
