TO BOOST TOURIST VISITS TO INDONESIA, AIRASIA HOLDS FREE SEAT PROMO & REDRUN

INDONESIA airline AirAsia is holding a free seat promo and RedRun sports tourism event in Bali. These two steps are an effort to increase the number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia.

According to the President Director of Indonesia AirAsia, Veranita Yosephine, Friday (02/14), 2025 said this initiative is part of Indonesia AirAsia’s commitment to support domestic tourism while encouraging an increase in foreign tourist visits to Indonesia.

“The first free seat promo this year is part of our efforts to attract foreign tourists to Indonesia. Through this promo, tourists can fly to various popular destinations such as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu and Penang. While other destinations are available at the lowest fares,” she said.

Based on data from the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency, he continued, the number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia in 2024 reached 13.7 million people. In supporting the growth of national tourism. Indonesia AirAsia plays an active role by expanding connectivity through its international route network.

1.2 Million Foreign Tourists
In 2024, Indonesia AirAsia carried more than 4.5 million international passengers to and from Indonesia. This includes 1.2 million foreign tourists who make Indonesia their main travel destination.

This commitment is in line with efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesian tourism in the global arena. With the addition of seven new international routes in 2024, including Jakarta-Kota Kinabalu, Jakarta-Bandar Seri Begawan, Bali-Kota Kinabalu, Bali-Phuket, Bali-Cairns, Bali-Hong Kong, and Jakarta-Hong Kong.

Through sports tourism and low-cost ticket promotions on international routes, Veranita said Indonesia AirAsia hopes to help achieve the Ministry of Tourism’s target of attracting 16 million foreign tourists by 2025. [sources/photo special]
