MINISTRY EXPANDS MORE ACCESS FOR MUSICIANS TO BE MORE COMPETITIVE

THE MINISTRY of Creative Economy has pledged to further strengthen regulations and expand access for musicians and industry players to become more competitive on a global scale.

“We want to ensure that Indonesia’s music industry not only develops creatively, but also provides sustainable prosperity for all parties involved, from musicians, producers to workers behind the scenes,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya in an official statement in Jakarta, Sunday (03/9) 2025.

By commemorating the 12th National Music Day, the Minister of Creative Economy invites us to appreciate the important role of music in the life and culture of the nation.

According to him, music is not only an artistic expression, but also a national identity and the main driver in the creative economy sector.

Furthermore, he added that National Music Day is an impetus for all elements of the industry to love, support and develop Indonesian music even more.

With strong innovation and cooperation, Indonesian music is expected to reach a wider stage in the international arena. One of the efforts of the Ministry of Creative Economy is to collaborate with Hexahelix and conduct training or incubation programs.

As part of efforts to strengthen the music ecosystem, the Ministry of Creative Economy will continue to develop various initiatives, including increasing access to copyright protection, facilitating licensing, and supporting music distribution through various digital platforms.

“Music is one of the subsectors of the creative economy with great potential. Therefore, we will continue to promote policies that can support the growth of the national music industry to be more competitive,” he said.

On the occasion of this year’s National Music Day, the Ministry of Creative Economy also invites all musicians, composers, sound engineers, artist managers, producers, record labels, music critics and other professionals to use this momentum as a place for cooperation and coordination in strengthening the Indonesian music industry.

The government will continue to support the music industry through musician-friendly regulations, adequate infrastructure, and various programs aimed at improving the welfare of industry players.

“Let’s make Indonesian music a source of pride for the nation that can compete and go global,” Riefky concluded. [antaranews]
