DEPUTY Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar hoped that the tourism sector could support the role of local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) at the time of the 2025 Lebaran (Eid) holiday.
“By involving MSMEs around tourist destinations, it is expected to boost local economic growth,” Irene said at the Prambanan Tourism Park Complex, Saturday (03/22), 2025.
According to him, in the program conducted by the Taman Tourism Tourism Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko (TWC) or Injurney Destination Management (IDM) in this year’s Eid moment, it has felt its impact on more than 2,500 local MSMEs and 150 artists involved during the 2025 Lebaran period.
“The presence of MSMEs and community involvement as well as artists in tourism is very beneficial, not only as a tourist attraction, but also directly affects the absorption of labor that supports local economic growth,” he said.
He said this is expected to strengthen the tourism chain and enhance the local wisdom or hospitality of the Indonesian people.
“The involvement of MSMEs and artists in the region, especially in this heritage destination, is the easiest and most powerful form of appreciation of the nation’s heritage. The community can directly enjoy the performances with a more memorable and warmer atmosphere,” he said.
He explained that the cooperation of various parties is the key to creating a healthy ecosystem for tourism growth and the local economy. The Eid activities at the temple involved 2,500 local MSMEs, 1,500 local artists and 9,00 local workers around the destination.
“This collaborative effort is a step towards sustainability that we apply, where we not only preserve cultural heritage and tourism, but also build strong ecosystems around them. The synergy between businesses, the environment and the local communities around them must be maintained in order to grow together, give meaning to each other and have a broad impact for future generations,” she concluded.
