THE JEMBER Fashion Carnival (JFC) 2025 is a strategic initiative to enhance the tourism image of Jember, East Java, on the global stage while increasing tourist visits to the region.
According to Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Ermawati said that the JFC has been an annual event since 2003, representing Jember’s identity. She made this statement while attending the JFC 2025 event at Jember Square on Sunday, (8/10), 2025. Additionally, JFC is consistently since 2003 included in the event calendar organized by the Ministry of Tourism, specifically the Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) initiative.
“KEN is a program under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism that promotes and supports events with tourist attractions that showcase strong local wisdom. Kharisma Event Nusantara is expected to encourage and drive tourism, both domestic and international,” said Ni Luh.
Ni Luh stated that JFC is an international event expected to position Jember as one of Indonesia’s tourist destinations on the global market. “I hope the Jember Fashion Carnival will provide a unique and memorable experience for tourists, thus encouraging more visitors to explore Jember Regency,” she said.
Ni Luh also acknowledged the role of JFC in implementing President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita (Five Goals), specifically the objectives to enhance quality employment opportunities, promote entrepreneurship, foster creative industries, and continue infrastructure development. Furthermore, participants enlivening JFC came from Jember and the surrounding areas.
Furthermore, the 2025 JFC involved numerous village cooperatives across Jember. This initiative is part of the Ministry of Tourism’s primary program to promote the development of community-based tourism villages.
These village cooperatives are expected to collaborate with the Red and White Cooperative, which is one of the Fastest Best Results Programs (PHTC) of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The Merah Putih Cooperative is poised to serve as a pivotal platform, supporting village governance and catalyzing the growth of the village economy. This initiative is designed to promote equitable growth, with the overarching goal of empowering communities and alleviating poverty.
Meanwhile, Jember Regent Muhammad Fawait is fully committed to the success of JFC 2025, which this year carries the theme “EVOLUXION.”
