THE MINISTER of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, has stated that micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in strengthening the foundations of the national economy.
Teuku Riefky stated in a written statement received in Jakarta on Sunday, (12/14), 2025, that MSMEs are not only venues for celebrating creativity and entrepreneurship, but also concrete steps to strengthen the foundations of the national economy through the strengthening of MSMEs and the creative economy.
At the inauguration of the Festival and Launch of Mitra Adhyaksa MSMEs in Lampung on Friday, Teuku Riefky highlighted the pivotal role of MSMEs in driving the Indonesian economy. Concurrently, the creative economy sector is emerging as a significant driver of national economic growth, demonstrating rapid expansion across various regions.
He asserts that the creative economy emerged from the convergence of creativity, innovation, and technology, with a foundation in cultural expression. This initiative aligns with President Prabowo’s Asta Cita, particularly the third point, which emphasizes the creation of quality employment opportunities through entrepreneurship and the creative industries.
The Mitra Adhyaksa MSME program provides business actors with regulatory explanations, streamlined licensing processes, preventive legal assistance, and counseling to support the creation of a safe and sustainable business environment.
This program is expected to enhance the self-confidence of creative economy stakeholders in managing and developing their businesses.
Teuku Riefky also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Republic of Indonesia Prosecutor’s Office and the Lampung Provincial Government in their efforts to bolster the creative industry and MSMEs.
Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky emphasized that the role of the Prosecutor’s Office in this program is not only limited to law enforcement, but also as a strategic partner in providing certainty and business protection.
He stated that with legal assistance, MSMEs and creative industries can concentrate on innovating, improving product quality, and expanding markets without being encumbered by legal issues, which often act as business obstacles.
The Ministry of Creative Economy is dedicated to fostering this collaboration, as the growth of the creative economy is contingent on a robust legal framework that provides clear guidelines.
Within one year of its formation, the Ministry of Creative Economy recorded performance achievements that showed real strengthening of the creative economy sector as a driver of the national economy.
As of Semester I 2025, the investment value of the creative economy has reached 66 percent of the target, contributing approximately 9 percent to the total national investment realization.
Meanwhile, the value of creative economy exports in October 2025 has reached almost 100% of the annual target and contributed around 13% of total national non-oil and gas exports.
In terms of employment, the creative economy sector also exceeded the target with an achievement of 107% in October 2025, equivalent to almost two million workers above the set target. In 2024, the contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to exceed IDR1,500 trillion, representing approximately 7% of the national GDP. [traveltext.id]
