THE ARTOTEL Group (AG), together with PT Jakarta Propertindo and the Jakarta Arts Council (DKJ), inaugurated an archive exhibition space reflecting the historical traces of the Cikini area and the artistic expression of Raden Saleh.
According to Eduard Rudolf Pangkerego, COO of ARTOTEL Group, in his remarks at the Raden Saleh Pavilion ARTOTEL Curated, Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Jakarta, on Monday (04/20), 2026 said the event, held to coincide with the commencement of operations of the Raden Saleh Pavilion ARTOTEL Curated, reinforces the hotel’s commitment to providing a space where art and hospitality meet in the TMI area.
“This exhibition is our first step in presenting relevant and sustainable cultural programs. As part of the arts ecosystem at Taman Ismail Marzuki, the Raden Saleh Pavilion is expected to become a collaborative space for artists, curators, communities, and the wider public to exchange ideas and inspiration,” said Eduard.
The archival exhibition, titled “Raden Saleh & Cikini: Genealogy of Space, Art, and Memory,” highlights the historical value of the Cikini area, particularly Taman Ismail Marzuki, which was once part of Raden Saleh’s residential complex.
Through an archive-based curatorial approach, visitors are invited to understand the genealogy of space and memory that shaped Cikini’s identity as an epicenter of creativity. A variety of archival materials, visual documentation, and historical narratives are presented to provide a reflective and educational experience.
Eduard stated that this exhibition will not only enhance the comfortable hotel experience for guests but will also provide artistic and cultural value, serving as a meeting space for the general public and art lovers.
“The collaboration with the Jakarta Convention Center (DKJ) also signifies the collaboration established in the creation of the “Raden Saleh & Cikini” exhibition, demonstrating the importance of synergy between hospitality industry players and arts institutions in reviving historical narratives and enriching the cultural ecosystem in Jakarta,” he affirmed.
Meanwhile, Bambang Prihadi, Chairman of the Jakarta Arts Council, said that the Raden Saleh Pavilion, ARTOTEL Curated, represents an arts facility within the TIM ecosystem that has been missing for 30 years and could be developed for cultural and cross-arts gatherings.
“After more than 30 years, TIM has lost an arts venue that supports the needs of artists, especially those from outside Jakarta. Because our mission here is to foster creativity, and creative arts are our priority. So, it’s always been the same: there’s creative arts, there’s entertainment, and it’s popular. And this is the place for creative arts,” Bambang explained.
This exhibition will take place at Selasar Nashar, the Raden Saleh Pavilion, ARTOTEL Curated’s art space, located on the 8th floor. It’s open to the public, art lovers, and hotel guests starting April 21, 2026. During its opening, the Raden Saleh Pavilion, ARTOTEL Curated, will also offer special room rates starting from IDR630,000 per night. [traveltext.id/photo antara]
