ARTMOMENTS JAKARTA: WHEN ART BECOMES A SPACE FOR THE EXCHANGE OF IDEAS

GOOD NEWS for art lovers in Indonesia. ArtMoments Jakarta will return from June 4–7, 2026, at the Agora Ballroom, Central Jakarta. This year’s presence reinforces its position as one of the leading platforms for modern and contemporary art in Southeast Asia.

This year, ArtMoments Jakarta carries a new theme, “Offerings,” which marks a shift in the way art is interpreted, moving beyond mere objects to gestures containing meaning, dialogue, and connection.

The theme “Offerings” reflects the trend of art as a space for the exchange of ideas, emotions, and cultural perspectives. This theme invites artists, galleries, and collectors to participate in a shared practice, where each work becomes a medium for storytelling and a connection between people.

“‘Offerings’ reflects this evolution and positions this art fair as a space where art becomes a form of giving, whether culturally, emotionally, intellectually, or spiritually, in response to a world that increasingly values meaning, connection, and authenticity,” said Sendy Widjaja, Co-Founder and Fair Director of ArtMoments Jakarta.

Continuing the previous themes of “Renewal” and “Restoration,” this year’s edition enters a more intentional phase, exploring what the art world has to offer again after a period of reflection and recovery. The result is a dynamic platform that brings together artistic vision, curatorial direction, and collector engagement in a cohesive cultural dialogue.

Dozens of International Exhibitors
This year, ArtMoments Jakarta 2026 features 75 exhibitors from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and South Korea. In doing so, ArtMoments Jakarta creates a space for cross-cultural exchange that places Southeast Asian art within a broader global conversation.

Artists such as Sukmantoro and other new generation artists, such as Demi Padua and Arifin Neif, bring historical depth and contemporary energy to the exhibition. The experience is further enriched through a variety of media, ranging from expressive works by the International Watercolor Society to evocative photography by Ted Van der Hulst.

Interactive elements such as MobArt’s Kids Section and the launch of Carrot Card Season 2 also present new approaches for audiences, especially young collectors. The goal is to interact with art more easily and meaningfully.

Other programs, rich in a balance between heritage and innovation, are also presented at the exhibition. One highlight is the ArtMoments Masters, which pays homage to influential modern artists, and curatorial exhibitions such as “Intimacy of Offerings,” which explores personal interpretations of themes.

The event also introduces Charity Moments, which emphasizes the role of art as a force for social impact. Visitors are also presented with a layered narrative that bridges generations of artistic expression, from Indonesian avant-garde figures such as Sudjana Kerton, S. Sudjojono, Mochtar Apin, Gregorius Sidharta, Made Wianta, to Jeihan.

Differing from the conventional art fair format, ArtMoments Jakarta 2026 embraces a more holistic and participatory approach, with an integrated curatorial vision under the direction of Jeong Ok Jeon. Based on the theme “Offerings,” this event fosters a dialogue between the works, the program, and the audience, transforming the experience from mere viewing to a space for exchange.
