THE Central Java Travel Agent Association (Asita) said that Solo City is ready to host various MICE (meetings, incentives, conversations and exhibitions) along with its various facilities.
According to Deputy Chairperson Asita Central Java and Chairperson of the Indonesian Congress and Convention Association (INCCA) Surakarta, Daryono in Solo said we are ready to host both national and international events. Currently Solo City is included in a row of potential destinations for MICE tourism, even in the eighth position at the national level.
“This is supported by a variety of natural tourist destinations in Soloraya, such as Karanganyar and Boyolali. In addition, it is also supported by connectivity between Yogyakarta and Semarang which are also included in the top 10 potential MICE destinations,” he said.
He said, in terms of facilities, the Joglosemar region, namely Jogja, Solo and Semarang, was supported by the presence of three international airports in each city.
“We are also supported by hotels with thousands of rooms, cultural attractions and culinary attractions. We have mapped it. In principle, we are ready to accept international events brought by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy,” he explained.
He added, meanwhile, the Asita Central Java party also appreciated the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy discourse that would make the Deputy MICE and Event. To be sure this will further increase the opportunities of Indonesia, even Solo to host international events.
He acknowledged that so far Indonesia was still inferior when compared to the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia. Even though Indonesia has great potential to become a MICE destination, including the City of Solo.
