MINISTER of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Wishnutama Kusubandio appreciated the election of Ayu Maulida as Puteri Indonesia 2020 is expected to promote tourism and Indonesia’s creative economy.
Wishnutama Kusubandio after becoming a judge on the final night of the Puteri Indonesia 2020 on Friday (3/3/2020) at JCC Senayan, Jakarta, said that the election of the representative of the East Java province as the Daughter of Indonesia 2020 will continue the baton of the 2019 Puteri Indonesia, Frederika Alexis Cull .
Puteri Indonesia so far is a representation of Indonesia that will introduce the natural and cultural wealth that is the strength of homeland tourism and the creative economy to the international world.
In addition to the Tourism Ministry & Economy Creative also present as judges at the event, were Puteri Indonesia 2018 Sonia Fergina Citra, Garuda Indonesia President Commissioner Triawan Munaf, People’s Consultative Assembly Chair Bambang Soesatyo, State of Enteprises Minister Erick Thohir, Minister for Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati Puspayoga, and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonso Wurtzbach.
“Puteri Indonesia is not just a beauty event, more than that, the princess of Indonesia consistently presents its representatives to show Indonesia as a great nation with natural wealth, culture and a variety of strengths of its creative products,” Wishnutama said.
On that occasion, Wishnutama briefly asked questions to the finalists from East Nusa Tenggara, Angel Virginia Boelan in the last 6 rounds.
Wishnutama said that not only were the winners, but all of the Puteri Indonesia finalists through three main forces namely brain, beauty, and behavior were invited to continue to plant strong roots in Indonesia’s young generation to love the culture of the archipelago.
“So that together with the government, especially the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, they can continue to introduce a variety of the beauty of the arts and culture of the homeland to the international world. And do not miss encouraging people to love local creative economic products so that the creation of good ecosystems in the development of the country’s creative economy,” Wishnutama noted.
The final night of the Miss Indonesia 2020 carries the theme of cultural richness and natural beauty of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) titled Colorful East Nusa Tenggara. This theme was chosen as a form of Indonesian Princess Foundation support for government programs in the tourism sector and the creative economy, namely introducing Labuan Bajo in NTT, as one of the priority priorities. The opening video of the final evening of Miss Indonesia 2020 was also previously done in Labuan Bajo.
Principal Advisor of the Puteri Indonesia Foundation, Putri Kis Wisnu Wardani, previously said that through the election of the Puteri Indonesia 2020 also became a promotional event for tourist destinations in Indonesia. Especially cultural tourism because Indonesia has extraordinary cultural wealth.
“Indonesian daughters are expected to play an active role as a bridge on how to develop their regions later, especially in relation to Indonesian tourism. They are expected to get to know and love the natural riches of their regional culture so that they can participate in promoting tourism and the creative economy both nationally and internationally,” said Putri Kus Vishnu Wardani.
In the last three, Ayuma calmly was able to answer questions from the jury about what happiness means. She then answered that happiness for him is how to be grateful for identity, weaknesses and strengths, and all the successes and failures that occur.
“How can we be of benefit to others around us. How we are always grateful for trials, falling and rising because that’s what makes us successful people. And successful people are people who are always grateful to God Almighty,” she said .
Ayu Maulida or familiarly called Ayuma was then pinned on Borobudur crown by Puteri Indonesia 2019 Frederika Alexis Cull and thrown in by Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi. With this success, Ayuma will become Indonesia’s representative at the upcoming Miss Universe.
