SOUTH Korea’s tourism has been greatly affected by the COVID-19 corona virus outbreak which makes people in the world have to limit themselves from traveling.
The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) Jakarta said that the number of travelers to South Korea from around the world including Indonesia, dropped dramatically. Since the end of February, tourists visiting Korea have declined by around 80%.
Nevertheless, South Korea has prepared a strategy to return to steal the hearts of travelers after the COVID-19 pandemic ended.
The strategy will be discussed and implemented with their partners, such as airlines, online travel agencies and influencers.
KTO will also make a campaign so that the interest of tourists to South Korea recover. Then, they will continue to focus on promotions with online travel agencies and airlines and shopping centers.
It is not yet known exactly when the corona virus pandemic will be completely over. However, the situation is expected to return to normal around June-July 2020.
When conditions have recovered in the next four months, tourists can enjoy summer and night tours that are also being prepared. May the pandemic end as soon as possible and all return to normal.
Quoted from the Visit Korea page, the visit of Indonesian tourists to Korea continues to increase every year. In 2018, there were 249,000 Indonesian travelers visiting the Land of Ginseng. From January to October 2019, there were 225,000 Indonesian tourists traveling to South Korea. [antaranews]
