MINISTER of Tourism & Creative Economy/Head of Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Wishnutama Kusubandio appreciated the support of the tourism industry which continues to struggle together to face the COVID-19 pandemic, including hospitality which provides accommodation for Health workers.
Wishnutama during a visit to Swiss-Belhotel Pondok Indah, South Jakarta, Thursday (2/4) said that the best accommodation for health workers who are currently at the forefront in handling COVID-19 is certainly very much needed to support their performance.
“Thank God, this afternoon we have the support of Swiss-Belhotel Pondok Indah and RedDoorz to support health workers from Fatmawati Hospital as one of the referral hospitals to handle the COVID-19 pandemic,” Wishnutama said.
During the visit Wishnutama was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Industry and Investment, Fajar Utomo, Deputy of Tourism Products and Organizing Activities (Events), Rizky Handayani Mustafa, Deputy of Marketing Division of Tourism Ministry, Nia Niscaya, Spokesperson for COVID-19 Tourism Misnitry, Ari Juliano Gema, and Staff Special for Security, Adi Deriyan Jayamarta.
Wishnutama said, like previous hotels that also worked with Tourism & Creative Economy Ministry in preparing medical personnel accommodation, he ensured hotel facilities and operations must be run with good health standards.
“I have seen this hotel facilities with all kinds of support including food, laundry, and all the facilities are in good condition,” Wishnutama noted.
He pointed out this health standard really needs to be considered in order to provide a sense of security and comfort for medical workers and hotel workers. Wishnutama hopes that the prayers and support from the public and especially the tourism industry will truly benefit health workers in Fatmawati General Hospital.
“So that health workers can rest well, be close to the workplace, and more effectively work. Likewise with the transportation, Antavaya provides transportation from the hospital to the hotel and vice versa so that everything is better for health workers struggling to face this COVID-19,” Wishnutama concluded.
Meanwhile Director of Fatmawati General Hospital, Dr. Mochammad Syafak Hanung, Sp. A, MPH expressed gratitude for the support of the Ministry of Tourism & Creative Economy in preparing accommodation for more than 150 health workers in Fatmawati General Hospital.
“Not only a comfortable place to stay, but also laundry and food. This of course can support the performance of our healthcare staff and nurses, so they can focus on serving patients,” Mochammad Syafak Hanung said.
He added that accommodation was indeed one of the obstacles faced by hospitals in the current struggle against COVID-19. Prior to the support of Tourism & Creative Economy Ministry with the tourism industry, our party was looking for ways to prepare accommodation facilities for health workers who were tasked with remembering their high intensity and risk.
“With this support they certainly can rest comfortably, there are no more burdened minds and only focus on patients. This is really strong support for us in dealing with patients,” he said.
In this collaboration, Swiss-Belhotel prepares 80 rooms with various other needs for more than 150 health workers. Accommodation in Swiss-Belhotel is prepared for health workers in Fatmawati General Hospital, South Jakarta, which is one of the government’s referral hospitals in handling COVID-19. [traveltext.id]
