THE Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) revealed that the work of the five national tourism strategic areas is still ongoing, whether construction works or project auctions.
According to the Directorate General of Construction Development Trisasongko Widianto said during the COVID-19 pandemic, there were no activities in the five super priority tourist destinations that were stopped. All implementation is still going on by implementing strict health protocols.
“The five priority tourist destinations are Lake Toba, Borobudur, Mandalika, Labuan Bajo, and Manado-Bitung-Likupang. Obviously, the total budget allocated by the Ministry of PUPR in 2019-2021 amounted to IDR8.62 trillion, with details of IDR1.65 trillion in Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 and Rp4.18 trillion in FY 2020,” he said.

“As for infrastructure support in the five national tourism strategic areas built by the Ministry of PUPR, it includes connectivity such as handling roads and bridges, water resources fields such as the construction of water reservoirs and flood control infrastructure,” Trisasongko noted.
