THE three colors of lake in the Kelimutu National Park in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara reopened but only serves 200 tourists per day with the COVID-19 protocol.

According to Agus Sitepu, Head of the Kelimutu National Park said that our institution has reopened the Lake Kelimutu tourist area in Ende Regency by implementing the COVID-19 health protocol.

“We have coordinated with the regional government, and have also been directly monitored by the COVID-19 Prevention Task Force related to its health protocol. Starting Friday (10/7) it has been opened to the public,” he said.

Agus added that the opening of the Lake Kelimutu natural tourism area, which sometimes changes color, refers to the Ende Regent’s recommendation letter Number BU.556/DISPAR.03/496/VI/2020. Visitors or tourists must obey the health protocol when entering the natural tourist area, such as washing hands, wearing masks and also must be checked his body temperature.

“The number of visitors or tourists who come is limited from the normal limit of only 200 tourists who can enter the area per day. The limitation on the number of visitors to the Kelimutu National Park is in accordance with the Circular of the Director General of Conservation of Natural Resources and Ecosystems (KSDAE) Number SE.9/KSDAE/PJLHK/KSA.3/6/2020,” he continued.

He added, every day, our party will always evaluate the development of the number of tourists who come, so that the number of visitor restrictions can change. Tourists who want to visit the tourist area must make a reservation or booking in advance so that the number of visitors can be recorded.
