BMW GROUP INDONESIA REMAINS OPTIMISTIC TOWARDS 2021

THE COVID-19 pandemic is a tough test for the automotive industry, however BMW Group Indonesia believes that this condition will be better in 2021.

According to the Director of Communications of the BMW Group Indonesia, Jodie O’tania, said sales in 2021 for premium brands will continue to increase and grow better than 2020.

“As for purchasing power, from existing data, for 2021, premium vehicles will continue to increase. Although there will definitely be an impact from the pandemic. But in 2021 there is an opportunity to continue to grow, especially for the premium vehicle market,” said Jodie in Jakarta.

In addition, he also added that consumers would be more willing to spend money to buy their dream vehicle compared to the one in 2020, with conditions that are still unstable due to the corona virus outbreak.

“In terms of premium market share, it will continue to grow in 2021. In 2021, BMW Group Indonesia will maintain several things that have been implemented in 2020, one of which is strengthening digitization,” he noted.

He also explained that it would be 2021, from the existing data that the pandemic was still very influential. So it can’t immediately return to normal. But the advantage is that we have learned from 2020 what can be done, for sure the preparation is more mature to face 2021.

“Then we will continue to maintain seamless offline and online customer journeys. And also we will not suddenly stop because the pandemic has actually accelerated digitalization quickly,” he added.

BMW Group Indonesia also has an online dealer network, an official online store on Tokopedia and a microsite that makes it easy for consumers to get information and purchase vehicles.

“We have a strategy called digitization from 2017, so when the pandemic occurred we already had a framework. We have started from the BMW Official Store in Tokopedia and there is a virtual showroom and test drive service,” Jodie concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
