THREE areas on the Island of the Gods have been designated by the Minister of Health and the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy as the COVID-19 Free Green Zone for the implementation of the Free COVID Corridor (FCC) program.
According to the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, the three areas are Ubud (Gianyar Regency), ITDC, Nusa Dua (Badung Regency) and Sanur (Denpasar City). The FCC program is a new pattern in handling safe tourism travel for COVID-19, namely by establishing a healthy zone that is free from COVID-19, through a comprehensive vaccination program for people who live and have activities in the zone or area.
“The comprehensive COVID-19 vaccination program aims to reduce transmission / transmission of COVID-19, reduce morbidity and mortality due to COVIDd-19, achieve group immunity in the community and protect the community from COVID-19,” he said.
He added, so that the Free Covid Corridor program is a pre-condition for the opening stage of tourism for foreign tourists. In implementing the green zone in the three regions, the Regent of Gianyar, the Regent of Badung and the Mayor of Denpasar are responsible for its implementation.
“To facilitate the implementation of the green zone free of COVID-19, we have recorded the number of people who will be vaccinated. For example, in Ubud, Gianyar, there are 50,153 people who will be targeted to undergo vaccination by taking four village locations consisting of Ubud Village (11,941 people), Sayan Village (8,083 people), Kedewatan Village (6,923 people), and Petulu Village (5,206 people), including 18,000 workers,” Koster noted.
For the vaccination target in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, he continued it will target three villages, namely Jimbaran (30,133 people), Benoa (26,173 people), and Tanjung Benoa Village (4,152 people), including targeting 9,500 workers.
“Meanwhile, in the Sanur area, Denpasar City, which is the target of vaccination are 10,970 people from Sanur Village/Kelurahan, 7,944 people from Sanur Kaja, and 7,892 people from Sanur Kauh Village/Kelurahan,” he concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
