INDONESIA’S Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is preparing a travel pattern or tourist travel pattern in Bima, Sumbawa Island. Bima will become an overflow destination for Labuan Bajo and Lombok which is predicted to be the main destination for foreign tourists after the COVID-19 pandemic
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno has the ambition to connect all tourism destinations including Bali, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Because apart from Labuan Bajo, Bima actually has proximity to Mandalika, so if we make a travel pattern this is very suitable and we can develop it.
“The potential proximity of the Bima region to Labuan Bajo and Lombok, which are super priority destinations, needs to be maximized. He said his ministry would align policies and strategic steps so that Bima could become an alternative destination,” he said.
Sandiaga explained, this effort is in line with the preparations for the Moto GP which will be in Mandalika, Lombok, in 2022. Tourists who come to Mandalika will later be prepared to visit Bima which has great tourism potential. In parallel, the Labuan Bajo Flores Authority Agency is said to be creating activities that synergize Bima, Labuan Bajo, and Mandalika.
“Including Satonda Island which is connected to Bali. I want all tourism destinations including Bali, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara to be connected. So this requires an innovation and creativity from us at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and also friends who manage tourism in the region,” Sandiaga concluded. [sources/photo special]
