COVID-19 cases in the Asian continent is higher, not only Indonesia, a number of countries are experiencing an increase in cases. Japan has declared a state of emergency in Tokyo while Vietnam has locked down Ho Chi Minh City.
“We will impose a state of emergency in Tokyo. The period will be until August 22,” Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga said at a government meeting on infection measures.
More details Japanese Economy Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura said the state of emergency in Tokyo would start from July 12 to August 22. He also said there would be restrictions applied in restaurants.

Meanwhile, the Japanese government and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) are finalizing proposals on the allowed number of spectators. Previously, it was agreed that the audience would be limited to only domestic viewers with a total capacity of 50%.
But this proposal is likely to be scaled back after medical advisory experts have said that the Games, which will be held from July 23 to August 8, are better off without spectators.
Cumulatively, as of Thursday (7/8) Japan found 810,000 cases of COVID-19 with 14,000 deaths since the pandemic hit. The current active cases are 16,177.
Meanwhile, Vietnam, took the decision to lock down Ho Chi Minh City starting today. This was done after there were 8,000 additional cases during the new wave of corona.
