INDONESIA’S Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy together with relevant ministries and institutions as well as industry are ready to carry out trials of implementing health protocols and using the PeduliLindungi application for tourist attractions. This is in accordance with the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 39 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) Level 4, Level 3, and Level 2 COVID-19 in the Java and Bali Regions.
The trial of the implementation of the health protocol and the use of the PeduliLindungi application is planned to first be carried out in 20 tourist attractions spread across DKI Jakarta, West Java, East and DIY that have met certain criteria that have been jointly determined by the Ministry of Tourism, Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment and the Association.
According to the Tourism Ministry’s Deputy for Industry and Investment Tourism, Fadjar Hutomo when opening the socialization and preparation meeting, Wednesday (9/8) said this effort was a follow-up to the instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs regarding the imposition of restrictions on community activities for PPKM level 4, level 3, and level 3. 2 in the areas of Java and Bali where there will be trials of gradual opening for tourist attractions with the implementation of strict health protocols and the use of the PeduliLindungi application.
“The trial begins in stages, starting with the opening of malls, then expanding to non-malls, hotels, restaurants, and cafes outside the mall. The trial of the implementation of this health protocol was carried out as an effort to revive the tourism sector during the implementation of PPKM. Where the tourism business will be reopened gradually by paying attention to the health aspect not only for visitors, but also workers or business managers at tourist attractions,” he said.
Fadjar explained that it is hoped that tourism activities can be carried out again safely and avoid the transmission of COVID-19. One of the mandatory requirements of this health protocol trial is the use of the PeduliLindungi application. This application is not an entry ticket, but as an initial screening. In its application, it must be followed by strict health protocols. So, it’s not only enough to scan the barcode at the entrance, but health protocols must be maintained.
Through this activity, it is hoped that the manager of the designated tourist destinations in the trial can really understand the technical things that must be prepared. Such as how to get a QR Code to be scanned by visitors, as well as the implementation of strict and disciplined health protocols, and others.
“The result of this meeting is expected to be conveyed in clear and detailed information regarding the trial plan. Then how do tourist attractions managers get a QR Code, how many QR Codes are needed in one tourist spot which of course varies greatly according to the situation on the ground. So that the presence of tourists in these places can be monitored and analyzed properly so that when there is a potential (contagion and crowds) it can be prevented as early as possible,” Fadjar elaborated.
Likewise, the Director of Industrial Management of Tourism Ministry, Anggara Hayun Anujuprana, explained that in this trial there were various requirements that must be met by business actors. Among other things, during the trial, visitors were limited to those over 12 years old.
In addition, water rides in tourist attractions that are being tested for opening are not allowed to be opened. The manager must also be able to determine the point of crisis (health protocols violation) to carry out administrative and technical engineering.
“It also has a mechanism for monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. How do we carry out surveillance that can be carried out every day on the tested tourist attractions,” Hayun concluded. [traveltext.id]
