INDONESIA’S Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno conveyed several requirements that must be met by foreign tourists to travel to Bali in the context of carrying out a trial to the area on October 14, 2021.
“Starting from getting a short visit visa or other entry permits in accordance with applicable regulations, negative COVID-19 results through the RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction) test whose samples are taken a maximum of 3 x 24 hours before departure time,” he said in the Weekly Press Briefing, in Ngalenggeran Tourism Village, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta Special Region, Monday (10/11).
Furthermore, foreign tourists must have proof of complete vaccination with the second dose, reside in a country in the low-risk category, have health insurance with a minimum coverage value of US$100 thousand, and then download the PeduliLindungi application.
During the arrival requirements, foreign tourists are also said to have to fill out an E-Hac (form that must be filled out by air transportation passengers to prevent the spread of COVID-19) via the PeduliLindungi application, then carry out an RT-PCR test upon arrival at the arrival point.
If the results are negative, continued Sandiaga, travelers can carry out quarantine according to the provisions. Meanwhile, if the results are positive and without symptoms, the traveler will isolate themselves in their respective accommodations. If the result is positive and symptomatic, the traveler will quarantine at the nearest health facility from the accommodation.
In addition, it is said that travelers who are positive can carry out a PCR test again on the 5th day. If negative, you can do outdoor activities (quarantine adaptation period). If positive, it is necessary to repeat the quarantine cycle.
“The quarantine proposal is shortened to 4-5 days, but the decision is not yet final. The main consideration in reducing the duration of quarantine is the incubation count. The latest records that I have obtained are that the average incubation period for COVID-19 is 3.7 to 3.8 days,” he stated.
Sandiaga explained that the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Pandjaitan had given directions regarding countries that were considered for the final selection to be allowed to go to Bali. Namely the People’s Republic of China, South Korea, Japan, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and New Zealand.
“We submitted several suggestions from other countries that could also be targeted along with quality and sustainable tourism,” Sandiaga added.
Apart from Bali, according to the Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation Number 34/2021, visits for tourist purposes have not been allowed. Until now, Sam Ratulangi Airport in North Sulawesi and Soekarno Hatta Airport in Jakara are open only to international travelers with essential business purposes. [traveltext.id]
